Safe Exam Browser is a desktop app that allows examinees to take exams in a safe and secure environment to prevent cheating.

To access the Proctored Exams

1. Open organization settings.
2. Go to the Proctored Exams tab.
3. Enable Proctored Exams on organization.
   
   
4. Select the Exam provider [Safe Exam Browser].
   
   

Now, SEB is allowed in the organization, and assessments that are taken through SEB can be created.

The assessment creator then will have a “safe exam browser” option when creating an assessment, when checking this checkbox, the examinees will then take these assessments through the SEB application.

Examinees will view the assessment in the plan tab on their course page with the proctored flag on it.

The examinee should download the SEB desktop app on their devices for the first time, then they can download the exam file.

If they have an SEB application, they can go and download the exam file directly.

How does SEB works integrate with LC: -

The examinee should install the SEB application on his/her device, and then open the downloaded exam file.

• The examinee should log in with his/her account.
• When the exam reaches the start time the examinee can start taking the exam.
• The examinee’s desktop is completely blocked.
• The examinee can exit SEB from the power button in the app.
• Once they close the app, they can’t open this exam again and should view the message “This exam is already taken”.
• In case the exam time is still in the future, the examinee won’t be able to start the exam and will view a message “the exam hasn’t started yet”.
• Once the examinee is finished solving, they should submit the exam and then exit SEB.
• Exams taken through SEB scores are displayed on the view scores page normally as a normal assessment.
